Coastal Carolina choirs to host an evening of Folk songs

The Coastal Carolina University's Concert and Chamber choirs will present a spring concert on Sunday, April 23 at 4 p.m. in Wheelwright Auditorium. The program called “Folksongs from Around the World” is free and open to the public.

The groups, CCU's Concert and Chamber choirs will sing in a variety of styles and languages from countries including New Zealand, Korea, Malaysia, Nigeria, Latvia, Japan, Czechoslovakia, Spain, England and America. In addition to piano, the choirs will be accompanied by a variety of percussion instruments to enhance the stylistic authenticity of several selections.

The choirs, under the direction of Terri Sinclair, director of choral activities, will be accompanied on piano by Mark Bernazzolia, a teaching associate of theater at Coastal.

Sinclair has been director of choral activities at the University of North Carolina at both Charlotte and Asheville.
