CCU Lifelong Learning offers October programs

Coastal Carolina University's Lifelong Learning program still has openings for various courses and classes throughout the month of October.

There are three eight-week courses concerning aging that begin next week including:

- Martha White's Wellness Sampler, which offers information on the mental, physical and spiritual aspects of healthy living and explore the impacts of music, meditation and laughter on aging. The course will be offered at the Waccamaw Higher Education Center each Monday from Oct. 9 to Nov. 13, from 1 to 2:30 p.m. and at Coastal's Conway campus on Tuesdays Oct. 10 to Nov. 14, from 1 to 2:30 p.m.

- John Cappello's Lifestyles to Longevity will address factors such as diet, nutritional supplementation and exercise. The course will be offered at the Waccamaw center on Wednesdays Oct. 11 to Dec. 6, from 3 to 5 p.m.; in Conway on Thursdays Oct. 12 to Dec. 7 from 1 to 3 p.m.; and at the Myrtle Beach Higher Education Center on Mondays Oct. 16 to Dec. 4, from 1 to 3 p.m.

- Reid Johnson's Gerontology: The Science of Successful Aging will focus on scientific research findings and their implications. The course will be held in Myrtle Beach on Wednesdays Oct. 18 to Dec. 13, from 1 to 3 p.m. and at the Georgetown Higher Education Center on Thursdsays, Oct. 19 to Dec. 13, from 1 to 3 p.m.

Oct. 12 - Voyage on the Waccamaw, 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Oct. 14 - Writing for the Sake of You, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Oct. 18 - Trip to Levine Museum in Charlotte, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Oct. 30 - Adventure to Waites Island, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Myrtle Beach:

Oct. 10 & 17 - Virtual Journey on the Intracoastal Waterway, 6 to 8 p.m.

Oct. 17 - Key to Time Management, 6 to 7:30 p.m.

Oct. 24 - How to Plan Group Vacations & Travel Free, 6 to 8 p.m.

Georgetown:

Oct. 14 - Fun with Pumpkin Carving, 1:30 to 4 p.m.

Oct. 23 & 30 - Virtual Journey on the Intracoastal Waterway, 6 to 8 p.m.

Oct. 30 - eBay: Buying and Selling, 1 to 4 p.m.

Waccamaw:

Oct. 7 - eBay: Buying and Selling, 9 a.m. to noon

Oct. 14 - Birding at Hobcaw, 7 to 11 a.m.

Oct. 14 - Fun with Pumpkin Carving, 9 a.m. to noon

Oct. 14 - Classics Start Here: Zeus and His Lady Loves, 9 a.m. to noon

Oct. 14 - How to Collect, Organize, Tell and Publish Your Family Stories, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Oct. 18 - Trip to Levine Museum in Charlotte, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Oct. 18 - The Old Testament Voice of God, 9 a.m. to noon

Oct. 21 - Self-Publishing: Buyer Beware, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Oct. 21 - Introduction to PowerPoint, 10 a.m. to noon

Oct. 21 - Introduction to Microsoft Excel, 1 to 3 p.m.

Oct. 23 - Great Ways to Use Your Computer, 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.

The start dates for two courses at the Waccamaw center in Litchfield have been postponed. Odile Postic's Travelers French will begin on Thursday, Oct. 12 from 2 to 4 p.m. and Gallery Hopping in America with Millie Doud will start on Thursday, Oct.19 from noon to 1:30 p.m.
