Chip Weisgerber

Chip Weisgerber has been named to the position of Director of Golf of Quail Creek Golf Club at Coastal Carolina University.

His duties will include overseeing the management of the golf shop, being responsible for the services and condition of the golf course and coordinating and assisting with Coastal's Professional Golf Management (PGM) program that currently has 199 students enrolled.

Weisgerber, who earned a business degree from Coastal in 1997, has been golf professional at Quail Creek since July 2005; previous so that, he was employed at Wachesaw Plantation Club, where he had served as head pro since 1999. Formerly, he was first assistant golf pro at Sandhill Link Inc., in Myrtle Beach and an account executive for MBNA America Bank NA in Wilmington, Del.

Quail Creek Golf Club at Coastal Carolina University is operated through the university's PGM program, one of only 18 such programs in the nation accredited by the Professional Golfer's Association of America (PGA). The course serves as a classroom and laboratory for students in the program, who also staff the facility, as well as for students in Horry-Georgetown Technical College's Golf Course Management Technology program.
