Coastal Carolina University Fall Homecoming schedule

Coastal Carolina University will celebrate Homecoming from Wednesday, Nov. 1, to Saturday, Nov. 4, with a variety of activities including a campus parade. The following events are open to the public and free unless otherwise noted.

Wednesday, Nov. 1 Student Talent Show

7 p.m.; Wall Auditorium

Alumni and students are invited to see Coastal students show their many talents while competing for cash prizes in the annual Talent Show.

Thursday, Nov. 2

Greek Step Show

7 p.m.; Wheelwright Auditorium CCU students show off their stepping talents.

Friday, Nov. 3

3rd Annual Alumni/ Chanticleer Club Golf Tournament

11 a.m. (Registration begins); Shotgun Start at noon; Quail Creek Golf Club

Play golf at CCU's own Quail Creek Golf Club. Tournament fee includes a gift bag, box lunch, all beverages, range balls, putting contest and an entry drawing for prizes. An after-round cookout will immediately follow the golf tournament on the Quail Creek clubhouse deck. Four-person team, captain's choice format with prizes for closest to the pin, longest drive for both men and women, best Greek alumni organization team, best alumni athletic team and overall team. If playing as a single, you will be paired with another player on tournament day.

Tournament fee is $125 for individual players and $600 for a corporate team of 4 players.

Chant Fest

2 to 5 p.m.; Lawn between Singleton building and Student Center

A carnival-like festival with fun, games, food and prizes.

Homecoming Spirit Parade

4 p.m.; Begins at Brooks Stadium

Grand Marshall Ron Ingle, president of CCU, will lead the parade. The route begins at Brooks Stadium and travels the length of University Blvd., ending at Spadoni Park Circle for the pep rally. Student organizations, Greek life, sports teams, and the Homecoming court will enter floats. Prizes will be awarded.

Pep Rally

5:15 p.m.; Student Center Deck

Join Coach David Bennett and the CCU football team for a pep rally in preparation for their match-up against the Savannah State Tigers, led by the sounds of the "Spirit of the Chanticleer" Marching Band and the CCU Cheerleaders. Awards will be given to overall winners for the Homecoming Float and Departmental Spirit Display competitions. Free hot dogs and drinks.

Saturday, Nov. 4

President's Cup 5K Homecoming Race

6:30 a.m. (registration begins), 7:30 a.m. (race begins); Williams-Brice Recreation Center

Participants may pre-register at the reduced rate of $10 until 12:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 3. The fee on race day is $15. Get your T-shirts and race numbers at the Student Recreation Center front desk on race morning.

Alumni Association Annual Meeting and "Alumnus of the Year" award

8:30 a.m.; Wall Auditorium

All CCU Alumni Association members are invited to attend the Coastal Carolina University Alumni Association Annual Meeting_ and "Alumnus of the Year" awards ceremony. A breakfast reception will begin at 8 a.m. with the meeting to follow promptly at 8:30 a.m.

Alumni Homecoming Pre-game Picnic

10 a.m. to noon; Prince Lawn

Join former friends and faculty on the Prince Lawn for the annual Homecoming tailgate featuring acoustic pop-rock artist Jesse Rice.

$5 per person includes BBQ meal and tea; $1 drink tickets available for beer and wine.

Homecoming T-shirts will be available for $10 each.

Visit the alumni registration tent on Prince Lawn to purchase all tickets and merchandise.

Football: Coastal vs. Savannah State

12:30 p.m.; Brooks Stadium

Watch the Chanticleers take on the Savannah State Tigers. Homecoming halftime activities include recognition of class agent gifts, crowning of Homecoming King and Queen and presentation of golf tournament trophy to winning team.
