Coastal Carolina University will present a percussion concert featuring five different ensembles on Tuesday, Nov. 7 at 7:30 p.m. in Wheelwright Auditorium. Admission is $8, or $6 for alumni and senior citizens.

In its fourth season, Coastal's Percussion Ensemble promises another tour-de-force performance with steel drums, Japanese Taiko drums and mallet instruments, representing music from around the world.

Featured ensembles include the CCU Taiko ensemble, the CCU Pop-percussion ensemble, Catalyst Percussion Group, African Drum and Dance and the CCU "Grand Strand Pans" Steel Band.

The bands are under direction of Kurry Seymour, director of percussion studies and Coastal's assistant band director.

Tickets for the performance can be picked up in person from Wheelwright Box Office Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. or 90 minutes prior to the performance. For more information, contact the Wheelwright Box Office at 349-2502.
