CCU presents All-County Choral Festival concert

Coastal Carolina University will host the Horry County Schools All-County Choral Festival concert on Saturday, Feb. 3 at 5 p.m. in Wheelwright Auditorium. The event is free and open to the public, but tickets are required.

(This performance was originally scheduled for Feb. 2 in Coastal's cultural calendar.) The Horry County Schools All-County Chorus comprises approximately 250 students from all Horry County middle and high schools.

Students in the seventh and eighth grades comprise the junior chorus and will be directed by Terri Sinclair, director of choral activities at Coastal. Sinclair earned a doctorate of musical arts (DMA) from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, a master's degree in music from Florida State University and a bachelor's degree in music from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

The senior chorus is comprised of high school students and will be led by Paul Criswell, chair of the music department at Lander University. Criswell earned a doctorate degree in music from the University of Maryland, and master's and bachelor's degrees in music from West Virginia University.

Tickets may be obtained from the Wheelwright Box Office Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. or 90 minutes prior to the event.

The performance will air locally on the educational access cable channel HCS-TV12 during the month of March along with the All-County Band and All-County Orchestra concerts. There is a limit of two tickets per person.
