Four new members named to Coastal Alumni Board

Four new members have been named to Coastal Carolina University's Alumni Association Board.

Paige L. Bird, of Myrtle Beach, graduated from Coastal in 2002 with a bachelor's degree in marketing and professional golf management. At CCU, she was a Wall Fellow and a member of the golf team. She earned an M.B.A. from Winthrop University in 2004. She is the co-owner of RE/MAX Palmetto Properties in Carolina Forest.

Chrissy Hunter, of Myrtle Beach, is a public relations associate with LHWH Advertising and Public Relations. She was previously the director of sales and marketing at the Hampton Inn Broadway at the Beach. She has a bachelor's degree in political science from Coastal and a master's degree in communication from Mississippi College.

Marquitta Davis, of Loris, graduated from Coastal in 1995 with a bachelor's degree in elementary education. She also earned a master's degree in education from the University of South Carolina. Davis is the principal of Conway Elementary School.

Jennifer Abbott, of Myrtle Beach, graduated from Coastal in 2004 with a bachelor's degree in early childhood education. She is in her first year of teaching at North Myrtle Beach Primary School, where she leads a cross-cultural, in-class program called "Heart Stories: A Vision for Change." She has also been selected as a Rotary International Fellow and will go to Australia next year for graduate work.

Other members of the Alumni Association Board include: Wells Alford, Christine A. Anderson, Tami L. Brooks, Brian Forbus, J. Michael Frazier, Christopher G. Henderson, Patrick J. Herrmann, Sammie C. Jordan, Steven G. Mays, Holly T. McMillan, Angie Rabon, George W. Redman III, Andy Rosenbaum, Mark A. Singleton, Robert S. Shelton, Daniel P. Sine, Paul M. Sweeney and David B. Turner.
