Coastal Carolina University's Lifelong Learning is sponsoring a poetry workshop, "Digging In," on Saturday Feb. 10 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The workshop hosted by Susan Meyers, president of the Poetry Society of South Carolina, will be held at the Waccamaw Higher Education Center in Litchfield.

This workshop is for beginners to experts and explains how to generate new poems that explore a subject to its fullest. Strategies will be provided for approaching a poem from numerous angles, digging deeper, moving beyond the obvious, yet retaining the poem's mystery. Meyers, of Summerville, is author of "Keep and Give Away," a book of poetry published by the University of South Carolina Press.
