Coastal Carolina University’s Division of Extended Learning and Public Services has space available in several foreign language courses for the 2001 spring semester. The fee for each course ranges from $99 to $139.

Part I course participants need no prior knowledge of the language. Part II courses require a basic conversational vocabulary and simple sentence structure capabilities. Advanced courses focus on reading, writing and speaking skills. Textbooks for the courses are priced under $30.

Some of the foreign language courses offered include:

• Basic French I: Tuesdays and Thursdays, Jan. 23 to Feb. 15, 6 to 8 p.m.

• Basic French II: Tuesdays and Thursdays, Feb. 27 to March 22, 6 to 8 p.m.

• Conversational Spanish I: Tuesdays and Thursdays, Jan. 23 to Feb. 15, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

• Conversational Spanish II: Tuesdays and Thursdays, Feb. 27 to March 22, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

• Conversational Spanish III: Tuesdays, Jan. 23 to March 20, 6 to 8 p.m.

• Spanish for Executives: Saturdays, Feb. 3 to 24, 9 to 11 a.m.
