CCU to host Pop 101 Concert

Coastal Carolina University's contemporary music ensemble, Pop 101, will present a concert featuring hit music from the 1980s on Friday, April 20 at 7:30 p.m. in Wheelwright Auditorium. The cost for general admission is $8 and $6 for Coastal alumni and senior citizens. CCU students, faculty and staff are admitted free wtih CCU ID.

Director Dan O'Reilly promises audiences "a rockin' trip back to the '80s," with hits made famous by artists such as Michael Jackson, Queen, Bruce Springsteen, Def Leppard, Donna Summer, Paula Abdul, U2 and many others.

O'Reilly, lecturer of music at Coastal, earned a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in composition from Long Island University. He also has extensive performing experiences both in New York City and along the Grand Strand at such venues as the House of Blues, Broadway at the Beach and The Palace Theatre.
