CCU Lifelong Learning begins summer classes

A new series of Lifelong Learning courses, designed to meet the needs and interests of the community, will be offered beginning June 4, during day and evening hours. Courses are offered at two locations: University Hall on the Coastal's main campus in Conway and at the Waccamaw Higher Education Center in Litchfield. The following courses are being offered:

- Art and Photography - Beginning Acrylics and Watercolors; Gems and Jewelry; Photoshop Safari

- Literature - Creative Writing; Inspirational Writing on Waties Island; Book Clubs at three locations (Conway, Litchfield and North Myrtle Beach)

- Music and Theater - Acting for Film and Television; Music and the Confederacy; Music Reading and Instant Piano for Beginners; Spoleto Productions (background and performances); "Starshine" Performance Training

- History - Stories from the Porch with Lee Brockington; How Music Shaped the Confederacy

- Religion and Philosophy - Biblical History; Metaphysical Explorations

- Natural History - Day trips to the S.C. Aquarium, museums, Artisans Center, Tea Plantation, Winery, Darlington Raceway, Riverbanks Butterfly Garden, and Night Sea Turtle Walks

- Personal Growth and Skills - America's Boating Course with the Georgetown Flotilla of the U.S. Coast Guard; Investing in Retirement; The Power of Positive Thinking

- Computer Technology - Courses for Absolute Beginners and Beyond; Introduction to Windows, eBay, the Internet and E-mail, Virus Protection, Special Purpose Programs (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Digital Photo Processing, Web Design and QuickBooks) ;Overview of Electronic Gadgetry
