Seminar addresses long term health care issues

"Caregiving: Financing long term care," a seminar focusing on long-term care issues for individuals and caregivers, will be held June 14 at 2 p.m. at HealthFinders at Coastal Grand Mall in Myrtle Beach. The program, sponsored by the Center for Active Aging and Retirement at Coastal Carolina University, will address long-term care and family caregivers, financial options for long-term care, caregiving from a distance, legislation that may affect long-term care, and elder debt management.

Presenters will include Jan Bowman, director of the Center for Active Aging and Retirement at Coastal; Reagan Callaghan, program director for the Expansion of Aging and Disabilities Resource Centers of South Carolina; and Kristen Habesland, a graduate of Coastal's gerontology program.

The program is free and open to the public. Health care professionals can earn continuing education credits (CEU) for a fee of $15. For reservations and information call 839-9933.
