Registration is under way for CCU's Lifelong Learning

Coastal Carolina University's Lifelong Learning fall schedule of short courses, workshops and programs for education and enrichment is now available, and registration is under way. More than 250 courses, which begin Sept. 17, are scheduled at four locations, including University Hall on the main campus in Conway, CCU's Waccamaw Higher Education Center in Litchfield, and also at Webster University in Myrtle Beach and the J. Bryan Floyd Recreation Center in North Myrtle Beach..

The program of noncredit courses offers studies in art and photography, computer technology, foreign languages, history and government, literature and writing, music, theater and film, personal growth and skill development, religion and philosophy, science and nature, as well as scores of cultural and travel opportunities.

The new catalogs, with a distinctive watercolor cover by artist/instructor Barnie Slice, will be mailed to prior Lifelong Learners and are available at the locations cited above, as well as at local libraries. To receive a catalog, call 349-4001 or 349-4030, or view and download the schedule online at www.coastal.edu/outreach.

For weekly updates of courses, events planned and other activities, send your e-mail address to Norm Whiteley, president of the Lifelong Learning Board of Advisers at whiteley@coastal.edu. Groups interested in scheduling a presentation on the program prior to the open houses planned for the week of Sept. 10 to 12 should contact Linda Ketron, director of Lifelong Learning at 349-4032.
