Coastal names new assistant dean, Greek coordinator

Coastal Carolina University has announced two new appointments in the areas of student life and extracurricular activities.

Brett S. Klein has been named assistant dean of students, and Travis E. Overton is the new Greek coordinator.

Klein was formerly assistant director of student activities as well as the University Center at Florida Atlantic University (FAU) in Boca Raton, Fla. He earned a bachelor's degree in theater at Montclair State University in New Jersey and a master's degree in higher education leadership at FAU.

Klein will lead the development, implementation and evaluation of the student activities program, manage the community service programs and create outreach programs for commuting students. He will also manage departmental budgets and oversee accounts for all student organizations.

Overton was resident director and co-adviser to Greek Life at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC). He earned a bachelor's and master's degrees in business administration from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.

His duties include the administration of all aspects of the Greek Life program, including advisement of organizations, liaison with national offices, overseeing recruitment and member selection processes and providing educational and training seminars for chapter officers and advisers.
