CCU's annual Cultural Celebration is Sept. 26

Coastal Carolina University will host its 16th annual Cultural Celebration festival on Wednesday, Sept. 26 from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Prince Lawn. The event is free and open to the public. The rain date is Wednesday, Oct. 3 at the same times and location.

Food from around the world will be featured, including Asian, Greek, Caribbean, German and Hispanic. The event will include performances by the Adande Dance Company, representing African culture; Saljazsol, a Latin jazz group; the Myrtle Beach Bagpipes, representing Scotland; "Mulligan's Banned," an Irish folk band; and the Tracy Thornton Steel Drums group. Arts and crafts from various cultures also will be for sale. Tables will be set up for Coastal student groups to showcase different cultures.
