CCU Theatre presents 'A Year with Frog and Toad'

November 9, 2007

The Department of Theatre at Coastal Carolina University will perform the musical, "A Year with Frog and Toad," on Wednesday, Nov. 14 through Sunday, Nov. 18 in Wheelwright Auditorium. Performances are nightly at 7:30 p.m. with matinees at 3 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday. There is no Sunday evening performance.

Tickets, available at the Wheelwright Box Office, are $8 general admission, $6 alumni and seniors; free to CCU students and faculty and staff with ID. Tickets will also be sold at the door 90 minutes prior to the performance.

This Robert and Willie Reale musical brings Arnold Lobel's children's book characters to life. The story follows two friends, the cheerful and popular Frog and the grumpy Toad, through the four seasons. Waking from hibernation in the spring, they proceed to plant gardens, swim, rake leaves and go sledding, learning important life lessons along the way.

Featured are Trey Gerrald as Frog and Kirk Johnson as Toad. Both are theater majors at Coastal. Monica Bell, assistant professor of theatre at Coastal, makes her CCU directorial debut with this production.
