Hawk named to new internal auditing position at CCU

Alison L. Hawk has been hired for the position of Director of Internal Auditing at Coastal Carolina University. The purpose of the new position is to establish a comprehensive audit, compliance and management services function for the university. Reporting directly to Coastal's board of trustees, Hawk will be responsible for issuing reports recommending methods to enhance efficiency and to ensure legal compliance and internal controls in the university's financial system.

Hawk, of Little River, is a certified public accountant with more than 25 years of experience is the fields of accounting, auditing and internal control. During her career she has worked with such firms as Price Waterhouse in Pittsburgh, Sherpa LLC and Deloitte & Touche LLP in Charlotte. After relocating to Myrtle Beach in 2006 she worked on the staff of Clark B. Parker CPA. PA.

Hawk earned a bachelor's degree in accounting from York College of Pennsylvania.
