CCU is offering free tax assistance through VITA

Volunteer Income Tax Assistance, an IRS program, will provide free tax assistance to the public through March 31 at Coastal Carolina University.

CCU accounting students will help with e-filing, basic tax returns with earnings of $41,000 or less, international student returns and multiple state returns.

Those interested in receiving assistance should bring: W2s, 1098T, a copy of last year's tax return (if available), Social Security card (if available), and any other information received regarding income tax. For direct deposit of refund, bring proof of bank account, such as voided checks.

Assistance will be available in room 201 of the E. Craig Wall Sr. College of Business Administration on Mondays and Wednesdays from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 3 to 4:30 p.m.; on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and from 1 to 3:30 p.m. and from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.; and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. There will be no VITA hours during the week of March 17 to March 21.
