Coastal wins top honors in state press annual contest

Coastal Carolina University has won two first place awards and one second place honor in the South Carolina Press Association's annual competition.

The Office of Marketing Communications was awarded first place for the Coastal Carolina University Alumni Magazine in the Best Magazine or Special Publication category; the publication is edited by Doug Bell and designed by Rob Wyeth.

CCU student Lauren Formalarie won first place for Best Photograph for a picture that ran in the Spring 2007 issue of Tempo, Coastal's student features magazine. Formalarie, a senior communication major from Belchertown, Mass., is the new editor of Tempo.

Coastal also won second place for the Best Web Site. The site is www.coastal.edu.
