CINO Day is Friday at Coastal

April 16, 2008

Coastal Carolina University's annual CINO (Coastal Is Number One) Day will be Friday, April 18 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the Prince Lawn of Coastal's campus. The event is open to all CCU students, faculty and staff, and all activities are free. CINO Day is an annual tradition on campus that gives students a day of fun and frolic before end-of-semester final exams.

Ongoing activities include: an obstacle course, "Decorate your own koozie" activity, Slip n' Slide, rock climbing wall, mechanical bull, temporary body art, carnival games and more. The spring 2008 edition of Coastal's student-produced features magazine, Tempo, will also be released at the event.

The CCU Campus and Community Sustainability Initiative and Santee Cooper will also sponsor the "Change A Light Campaign." Participants are encouraged to bring energy inefficient light bulbs to the Eco-Rep table to have them exchanged for energy efficient compact fluorescent bulbs, provided by Santee Cooper and the local Sierra Club-Winyah Group. The campaign is a part of the ENERGY STAR program.
