Pat West has been named to the position of executive director of human resources and organizational development at Coastal Carolina University, according to an announcement by University President David A. DeCenzo. She is responsible for all functions of the university relating to human resources (including benefits, employment, classification and compensation), payroll, training and development.

A native of Conway, West joined the university staff in 1985 and has served in many capacities, including director of payment services, assistant controller, director of payroll and assistant director of human resources. She earned a bachelor's degree from USC-Coastal Carolina College and an M.Ed. from the University of South Carolina.
