Business Education Economic Development Forum is this week

The second annual Business Education Economic Development Forum will be held Wednesday, June 18 from 9 to 11:30 a.m. in Wall Auditorium at Coastal Carolina University.

Edward E. Gordon, an internationally recognized author, speaker, educator and workforce consultant, will give the keynote address on "More & Better: Preventing a Workforce Meltdown."

Coastal Carolina University Provost Robert Sheehan will address "Preparation and Need in the Waccamaw Region: A Gap Analysis."

More than 450 educators, employers, parents, students and community leaders from Horry, Georgetown and Williamsburg counties participated in community meetings to discuss services and resources needed to support connectivity between education and economic development. The results of these meetings will be presented in the form of a gap analysis assessment of the data, along with a Call to Action for intervention strategies to close the gaps identified.

The event is sponsored by Coastal Carolina University and the Spadoni College of Education, and the Waccamaw Regional Education Center. Research
