Coastal Carolina University to host Cultural Celebration

Coastal Carolina University will host the 17th annual Cultural Celebration festival on Wednesday, Sept. 17 from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Prince Lawn. The event is free and open to the public. The rain date is Wednesday, Sept. 24 at the same time and location.

The African American Dance Ensemble of Durham, N.C., will perform, along with various kinds of ethnic music.

Coastal Carolina University's Strike Taiko Ensemble and Steel Drum Ensemble will perform, along with Latin dancer from Charleston. The Myrtle Beach Pipe Band and hula dancers will perform as well, and participants will be given the opportunity to learn Latin dances.

In addition to the ethnic entertainment, there will be African-American arts and jewelry, as well as food vendors offering cuisine from various countries. Tables will be set up for the University's student groups to showcase different cultures.
