'The Dead Guy' opens Dec. 3 at Coastal Carolina University

The Department of Theatre at Coastal Carolina University will present Eric Coble's "The Dead Guy," a satire on reality TV, on Wednesday, Dec 3 through Saturday, Dec. 6 in the Black Box Theater in the Thomas W. and Robin W. Edwards College of Humanities and Fine Arts. Performances are nightly at 7:30 p.m. with a matinee at 3 p.m. on Saturday.

Directed by Kirk Johnson of the Coastal Carolina University's Department of Theatre, "The Dead Guy" explores the television industry's desperate attempt to keep Americans in front of the screen. Given $1 million to spend over the course of a week, Eldon Phelps, the main character of a reality show, is followed by a camera crew broadcasting his every move on national television. However, at the end of the week Phelps must die, and the viewing audience votes the method of death.
