'The Dead Guy' opens Dec. 3 at Coastal Carolina University

The Department of Theatre at Coastal Carolina University will present Eric Coble's "The Dead Guy," a satire on reality TV, on Wednesday, Dec 3 through Saturday, Dec. 6 in the Black Box Theater in the Thomas W. and Robin W. Edwards College of Humanities and Fine Arts. Performances are nightly at 7:30 p.m. with a matinee at 3 p.m. on Saturday.

Directed by Kirk Johnson of the Coastal Carolina University's Department of Theatre, "The Dead Guy" explores the television industry's desperate attempt to keep Americans in front of the screen. Given $1 million to spend over the course of a week, Eldon Phelps, the main character of a reality show, is followed by a camera crew broadcasting his every move on national television. However, at the end of the week Phelps must die, and the viewing audience votes the method of death.

Tickets are available at the Wheelwright Box Office and are $3 general admission;children ages 10 and under are free but must be accompanied by an adult. For ticket information contact the Wheelwright Box Office at 349-2502.
