Coastal Carolina University will host its 10th annual Cultural
Celebration festival on Wednesday, April 18 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on
the Prince Lawn. A variety of ethnic food and merchandise will be
available for sale. The event is free and open to the public.
The festival will feature entertainment from many
international cultures. Scheduled performers include: the Coastal
Carolina University Gospel Choir; Myrtle Beach Regional Pipe Band;
Caribbean Steel Drums; Solazo, a Hispanic musical group; German Brass
Band; and Adande, an African dance troupe from Charleston, S.C.
Students from Conway Elementary School will also perform.
To kick-off the celebration, "Salsa in the Night" will be
held Tuesday, April 17 from 7 to 11 p.m. in Spadoni Park. Sponsored by
Coastal's Spanish Club, the event will include a variety of Latin and
salsa music.
In the case of inclement weather, Cultural Celebration will
be held Wednesday, April 25.
