Tax assistance through VITA at Coastal Carolina University

Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA), an IRS program, will provide free tax help to the community through March 25 at Coastal Carolina University.

The University's accounting students will help with e-filing, basic tax returns with earnings of $42,000 or less, international student returns and multiple state returns.

People will need to bring: W2s, 1098Ts, 1099s, copy of last year's tax return (if available), Social Security card (if available), and any other information you have received regarding income tax. If there is a direct deposit of refund, bring proof of account, such as a voided check.

Assistance will be available in room 201 of the E. Craig Wall Sr. College of Business Administration on Mondays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 3 to 5 p.m.; Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 3 to 5 p.m. There will be no VITA hours during the Spring Break, which is the week of March 16 to March 20.
