Annual concert series to play in North Carolina

Coastal Carolina University will present its annual Community Concert Series Friday, Feb. 20 at 7:30 p.m. at Brunswick Community College in Bolivia, N.C. The concert will feature the University's Symphonic Band and World Music Ensemble. Admission is free.

Jim Tully, associate professor and director of bands at the University, will conduct the Symphonic Band. The program will feature patriotic music, selections from Broadway shows and wind band classics. The World Music Ensemble under the direction of Kurry Seymour, assistant director and percussion coordinator at the University, will perform pieces for steel band, African ensemble and Japanese taiko drums.

The concert is presented as a community outreach experience for residents and visitors of the Grand Strand and North Coastal regions and the Carolina's. Bolivia is located 20 minutes south of Wilmington, N.C. For more information call 843-349-6502.
