Coastal Carolina University will showcase black history

Coastal Carolina University will host "Black History is American History" Thursday, Feb. 19 at 7 p.m. in the Wall Auditorium. Various student organizations have collaborated to produce a program of entertainment that celebrates the achievements African-Americans. The event is free and open to the public.

Organizations such as the African American Association, Inspirational Ambassadors student gospel choir, the student NAACP chapter and Leadership Challenge will celebrate through song, dance and theater with singing, dancing and skits designed to illustrate critical events in our nation's history.

The event is part of the University's annual African-American Celebration, a series that runs throughout the 2009 spring semester. For more information, contact the University's Office of Multicultural Student Services at 843-349-2863.
