Annual Gospel Sing Out showcases student vocalists

Coastal Carolina University's annual Gospel Sing Out is scheduled for Sunday, March 8 at 4:30 p.m. in Wheelwright Auditorium. The event is free and open to the public, but tickets are required. The Sing Out will feature the University's gospel choir, now known as the Inspirational Ambassadors, and area high school gospel choirs.

This concert was originally scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 15, but the date and venue has changed.

Established in 1988, the Inspirational Ambassadors comprises of 45 students who share a passion for gospel music and the preservation of African-American history. Under the direction of David Manigo, the choir has recently performed locally at area churches and schools.

The event is part of the University's annual African-American Celebration, a series of events designed to highlight the art, history, music and theater of African-American culture. Events are scheduled throughout the 2009 spring semester.

Tickets for the performance may be picked up from the Wheelwright Box Office Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. or prior to the performance. For more information call 843-349-2502.
