Faculty guitar recital set for Feb. 24

Coastal Carolina University music instructor Daniel Hull will present a guitar recital on Tuesday, Feb. 24 at 7:30 p.m. in the Recital Hall of the Thomas W. and Robin W. Edwards College of Humanities and Fines Arts. The event is free, but tickets are required.

Hull will perform "Grand Overture" by Mauro Giuliani, "Six Balkan Miniatures" by Dusan Bogdanovic, "The Nocturnal" by Benjamin Britten, "Tango en Skai" by Roland Dyens, "Danza Characteristica" by Leo Brouwer and "Emergence" by Andrew York. He will also play four selections from Mario Castlenuevo-Tedesco's "Platero y Yo" on guitar, accompanied by Peggy O'Neill-Hull as narrator.

Hull is an active soloist and ensemble musician and has performed throughout the United States, Europe and the Caribbean. He teaches guitar and music appreciation and directs the University's guitar ensembles. Hull earned a bachelor's degree from Illinois State University and a master's degree and doctoral degree from the Eastman School of Music.
