Oestreich to give reading at Coastal Carolina University

Joe Oestreich, assistant professor of English at Coastal Carolina University, will give a reading from his work at the University's faculty showcase reading, "The Words to Say It: A Visiting Writers Series" Thursday, March 5 at 4:30 p.m. in the Wall Auditorium of the E. Craig Wall Sr. College of Business Administration. The reading is free and open to the public.

Oestreich joined the University faculty in 2008. He earned a bachelor's degree in political science and a master's degree in creative writing from The Ohio State University in 2001 and 2007, respectively.

A creative nonfiction specialist, his essays have appeared in Esquire, Sports Illustrated, Ninth Letter, Fourth Genre and many other magazines and journals. He has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize, noted in "The Best American Non-required Reading" and honored in The Atlantic Monthly. He teaches creative writing at the University.
