Tea and Poetry series continues this week

Poets Phil Bowman and Al Maginnes will read at Coastal Carolina University's "Tea and Poetry" Thursday, March 5 at 3 p.m. at the Waccamaw Higher Education Center in Litchfield. The event will include readings from personal work, a book signing and a reception.

Tea & Poetry is a series co-sponsored by the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Coastal Carolina University (OLLI) and The Poetry Society of South Carolina.

Bowman's poems have been published in Poetry, Poetry Northwest, Southern Humanities Review and Journal of the American Medical Society. His award winning chapbook, "The Museum of Childhood," was issued by Stepping Stones Press in 2008. He lives in Florence where he practices psychiatry.

Maginnes has published six poetry collections including "Dry Glass Blues" (2007), "Film History" (2005) and "Ghost Alphabet," which won the 2007 White Pines Poetry Prize. He lives in Raleigh, N.C. and teaches at Wake Technical Community College.
