Spring Breakout: A One-Day Creative Writing Workshop with author and writing instructor Al Perry will be held at the Waccamaw Higher Education Center from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 18. The fee is $29.95. The workshop is offered through the Osher Institute of Lifelong Learning at Coastal Carolina University.

Designed for writers and poets at every level of experience, Perry will help you find your true voice, break away from writer's block and offer guidance with constructive helpful critiques.

The founder and past president of Winston-Salem Writers, Perry is a member of the South Carolina Writers' Workshop and the North Carolina Writers' Network, as well as a certified facilitator of Amherst Writers and Artists. His creative writing methods were developed by Pat Schneider, author of "Writing Alone and with Others."
