Coastal Carolina University students, faculty and staff will meet in front of the E. Craig Wall Sr. College of Business Administration to take a brief walk around campus at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 8 for National Start! Walking Day. The event is also open to the public.

The walk is a kickoff for the American Heart Association's annual Heart Walk scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 10 at Market Common. University President Dave DeCenzo is the walk chairman this year.

Sponsored by the American Heart Association, the day of walking is taking place across the country at business, schools and stores to raise awareness about heart disease, the No. 1 killer in the U.S.
