Coastal Carolina University choirs host fall concert

Coastal Carolina University's Concert and Chamber Choirs, directed by Terri Sinclair, will perform a Fall Choral Concert on Thursday, Oct. 1 at 7:30 p.m. in Wheelwright Auditorium. The concert is free but ticketed and open to the public.

Featured guests will be the St. James High School Advanced Choral Ensemble of three choirs directed by Sandra Bass.

The various choirs will perform choral music with texts by renowned poets E.E. Cummings and William Butler Yeats. The concert will also feature a performance in Yiddish dialect in honor of the University's chair of the Department of Music, Donald Sloan.

The University's Concert Choir performs a challenging repertoire representing all styles of western music history. The Concert Choir also makes efforts to incorporate music of an innovative style into performances. The Chamber Choir performs all styles and periods appropriate for chamber choir and emphasizes a cappella music from the Renaissance period.
