Coastal Carolina University to host Gospel Extravaganza

April 16, 2010

The Coastal Inspirational Ambassadors, Coastal Carolina University’s student gospel choir, will host a Gospel Extravaganza at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 25 in Kimbel Arena/Williams-Brice Recreation Center. The event is free and open to the public.

Other groups scheduled to perform include Francis Marion University’s Young Gifted and Black, Furman University’s Gospel Ensemble and others.

Performances by the Coastal Inspirational Ambassadors, directed by David Manigo, showcase the talent and spirit of the University’s student vocalists. The mission of the Ambassadors is to give students a positive activity that is spiritually uplifting. The choir seeks to perpetuate the tradition of gospel music and to recognize the importance of gospel in the preservation of African-American history. Membership in the group helps to develop responsibility, teamwork, poise and a sense of service to the community. Membership is open to any student currently enrolled at the University.
