Lifelong Learning catalogs for fall classes now available

July 19, 2010

The fall catalog for the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at Coastal Carolina University is now available throughout the Grand Strand.

OLLI offers a wide variety of noncredit courses for adult learners. More than 300 classes and workshops are planned for the fall term (Sept. 13 to Dec. 15) at three outreach centers – Conway (Foundation Center at U.S. 501 and Winyah Road), Myrtle Beach (Myrtle Beach Education Center at 79th Avenue North and U.S. 17 Bypass) and Litchfield (Waccamaw Higher Education Center at 160 Willbrook Blvd.).

Courses that are offered include art and photography, computer technology, foreign languages, history and government, literature and writing, music, theater and film, personal growth and skills, religion and philosophy, science and nature, and history and nature excursions.

During Free Week, Sept. 7 to 9, current and prospective Lifelong Learners will be treated to dozens of free lectures and demonstrations of upcoming courses and special interest clubs. Free Week also gives students the opportunity to meet teachers and staff; learn about accessing OLLI’s website and online WebAdvisor; get assistance with registering for OLLI membership and classes; and secure parking permits and photo IDs.

The entire catalog is posted at www.coastal.edu/olli, as is the weekly newsletter, which informs Lifelong Learners about upcoming courses, workshops and community events. For more information or to receive a catalog by mail, call 843-349-4001 (Conway), 843-349-2767 (Myrtle Beach) or 843-349-6584 (Waccamaw).
