CCU music faculty to perform chamber recital

Faculty members of the Coastal Carolina University Department of Music will perform a chamber recital at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 3 in the Recital Hall of the Thomas W. and Robin W. Edwards College of Humanities and Fine Arts.

The performers will present a diverse program of traditional and contemporary chamber works in a variety of vocal and instrumental combinations. The program will include works by J.S. Bach, Madeleine Dring, Eric Ewazen, Benjamin Britten and Don Sloan, chair of CCU’s Department of Music.

General admission is $3 and children (10 and under) are admitted free. Coastal Carolina University and Horry Georgetown Technical College (HGTC) students receive one free ticket per valid ID, and CCU and HGTC faculty and staff receive two free tickets per valid ID.

Faculty performers include vocalist Patti Edwards, associate professor of music; flutist Amy Hardison Tully, assistant professor of music; Dan O’Reilly, lecturer of music, on saxophone; Jessica Miller, teaching associate, on oboe; pianist William Hamilton, professor emeritus; vocalist David Bankston, professor of music; guitarist Steve Bailey, associate professor of music; percussionist Jessie Willis, assistant professor of music and director of percussion studies; Matthew Shrewsbury, lecturer of music and assistant director of bands, on trombone; and Chris Ackerman, teaching associate, on trumpet.

Special guests for the evening include pianist Reneé Jackson, pianist Elsie Pollock, bassist Danny Hess, percussionist Michael Knight, vocalist Lisa O'Reilly and Mindy Burgin on cello.
