November 8, 2010

Coastal Carolina University's Symphonic Band and Chamber and Concert choirs will perform a mix of seasonal tunes and carols at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 1 at the First Presbyterian Church of Myrtle Beach, at 3810 Robert Grissom Parkway. The concert is free and open to the public.

The University Department of Music will present its 11th annual holiday concert featuring the Coastal Carolina University Chamber and Concert Choirs, under direction of Terri Sinclair, and the Symphonic Band, under direction of James Tully.

The program will consist of seasonal classical selections, including “Bring A Torch, Jeannette, Isabella,” “He Is Born, the Divine Christ Child,” “Of the Father’s Love Begotten,” “Irving Berlin’s Christmas” and “A Spotless Rose.” As has become tradition, the concert will conclude with a combined performance of the "Hallelujah Chorus" from Handel's "Messiah" in which the audience will be invited to participate.

The event is presented as a community outreach experience for all residents and visitors to the Grand Strand. For more information, contact the University Department of Music at 843-349-2637.
