Coastal Carolina University offers lunch discussions

The Women’s Resource Center at Coastal Carolina University will host a series of informal lunch seminars over a six-week period addressing a wide range of women’s issues.

The Brown Bag Lunch Series is a free community forum focusing on challenging social issues. Participants are invited to bring bag lunches and share their views and ideas. The series will be held at noon in the E. Craig Wall Sr. College of Business Administration, room 313.

Specific dates and topics include:

On Jan. 28, Justine Simone, an abuse survivor, will present “Healing from Violence from Reiki.”

On Feb. 4, James Luken, biology professor and associate dean of the College of Science, will present “Increasing Board Participation, Women in S.C.”

On March 4, Aneilya Barnes, assistant professor of history at CCU, will present “Women in the Early Islamic World.”

On April 1, Richard Collin, distinguished professor emeritus of politics at CCU, will present “Women in the World: Some Victories, Some Defeats.”
