Feb. 16, 2011 Noted poet to speak in Visiting Writers Series at CCU

Rhett Iseman Trull, poet and author of “The Real Warnings,” will give a reading of her work at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 24, in the Wall Auditorium at Coastal Carolina University. The event, which is part of the Words to Say It Visiting Writers Series, is free and open to the public.

“The Real Warnings,” Trull’s first book of poetry, received the 2008 Anhinga Prize for Poetry, the 2010 Devil’s Kitchen Reading Award, the 2010 Brockman-Campbell Book Award and the 2010 Oscar Arnold Young Award. Her work has appeared in The American Poetry Review, “Best New Poets 2008,” Prairie Schooner, The Southern Review and other publications. Her awards include prizes from the Academy of American Poets and the Dorothy Sargent Rosenberg Foundation. She and her husband publish Cave Wall, a literary journal of poetry and art, in Greensboro, N.C.

“The Real Warnings” will be available for sale and signing after the talk.
