"Fire and Earth: The Works of Warner Hyde and Jane Nodine," an exhibition featuring works by two artists of the Carolinas, has opened at Coastal Carolina University in the Rebecca Randall Bryan Art Gallery. The show, which continues through April 8, is free and open to the public.

North Carolina artist Warner Hyde are presenting sculptural works made of natural clay, while artist Jane Nodine, professor of art and director of the Curtis R. Harley Gallery at University of South Carolina-Upstate, will present her unique iron-oxidation encaustics.

Nodine's work includes drawing and painting, jewelry-metalsmithing, installation and photography. She exhibits widely in the United States and has been included in several exhibitions in Europe. Recognized with numerous awards, Nodine received a Southeastern Seven IV Fellowship from the Southeastern Center for Contemporary Art in Winston-Salem and two South Carolina Arts Commission Artist Fellowships.

Hyde is an assistant professor of ceramics at Meredith College. He exhibits almost exclusively in North Carolina and South Carolina.
