CCU invites scholar to speak on Constitution Day
The lecture is titled “The Seventeenth Amendment: A Brief History of a Big Mistake.” Immediately following the lecture is a reception which will take place in the Wall Boardroom (Room 222 in Wall building).
Rossum is the Salvatori Professor of Political Philosophy and American Constitutionalism at Claremont-McKenna College in Claremont, Calif. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Chicago, has published several books and co-edited a widely-used case book in constitutional law.
The Constitution Day event is the first of numerous events to be held as part of the Decade Project, a project commemorating the 10th anniversary of the opening of the Thomas W. and Robin W. Edwards College of Humanities and Fine Arts. The Decade Project will feature events held by each of the departments within the college throughout this academic year. The Constituion Day event is presented by the department of politics and geography.
