Award-winning photographer Josť Galvez will present "A Life in Pictures" at 6 p.m. Wednesday Oct. 26, as part of the Hispanic Heritage series at Coastal Carolina University. The event will be held in the Kline Hospitality Suite at Brooks Stadium, and it is free and open to the public.
For more than 40 years, Josť Galvez created a powerful historical record of the Latino experience in America through black and white photography. He was on a Los Angeles Times team of reporters and photographers that won a Pulitzer Prize in 1984 for a series on Latino life in southern California. He is also the author of several books including his most recent, "Shine Boy," a memoir about growing up in the barrios of Tucson, Arizona, which includes images from his collection.
