Acclaimed author to give reading at CCU

Award-winning fiction writer Caitlin Horrocks will read from her latest work at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 27 in the Wall Auditorium at Coastal Carolina University. The reading is free and open to the public.

Horrocks, who lives in Grand Rapids, Mich., is the author of the short-story collection “This Is Not Your City,” a New York Times Editor’s Choice and a Barnes & Noble Discover Great New Writers selection. Her work has appeared in The Best American Short Stories 2011, The Pushcart Prize XXXV and the PEN/O. Henry Prize Stories 2009 among many others. She has received the Plimpton Prize as well as a fellowship to the Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference. She is an assistant professor of writing at Grand Valley State University and fiction editor at West Branch literary magazine.

A reception and booksigning will follow Horrocks’ reading. Her book will be available for purchase. The Wall Auditorium is located in the E. Craig Wall Sr. College of Business Administration at 119 Chanticleer Dr. E. across from the residence halls.
