Fourth Annual Gospel Blowout set for Nov. 6

Gospel recording artist Kierra Sheard will perform at the fourth annual Gospel Blowout, set for 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 6 at the Myrtle Beach High School Auditorium, 3302 Grissom Parkway. The event, which will also feature four university gospel choirs, is sponsored by Phase II, a student Christian organization at Coastal Carolina University.

Sheard is the daughter of gospel singing legend Karen Clark Sheard and granddaughter of pioneer gospel choir director Matti Moss-Clark. She has been nominated for a Grammy and is the winner of multiple Dove awards.

The event will also feature performances by Coastal Carolina University’s Phase II Choir and dancers, Claflin University’s Justly Anointed Delivering Encouragement Ensemble, Charleston Southern University’s Gospel Choir, Francis Marion University’s Young Gifted and Blessed Gospel Choir and American Intercontinental University’s Phase II Atlanta Choir.

Tickets are $15 for adults; $10 for children under age 11, CCU and Horry Georgetown Technical College students and CCU and HGTC faculty and staff. Advance tickets are currently on sale at the Lib Jackson Student Center information desk from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.
