Jazz After Hours concert scheduled at CCU

Jazz After Hours, the student jazz ensemble of Coastal Carolina University, will perform at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 6, in Wheelwright Auditorium.

The concert will include music from the Great American Songbook, along with modern songs by smooth jazz and funk artists. The program will feature hits such as “Since I Fell For You,” “I’ve Grown Accustomed To Her Face,” “Falling In Love With Love,” “Mr. Magic,” “Walking Up Hip Street,” “The Preacher” and others.

Jazz After Hours is directed by Dan O'Reilly of the CCU music faculty. The ensemble specializes in American forms of music, covering musical styles from the 1940s to the present. The group performs semi-annual concerts that feature guest artists and soloists.

General admission is $9; children 10 and under are admitted free. CCU and Horry Georgetown Technical College students receive one $3 ticket per valid ID. CCU and HGTC faculty and staff receive two $3 tickets per valid ID. Alumni and senior citizens’ tickets are $7 as well as Osher Lifelong Learning Institute members.
