OLLI kicks off Spring semester with Free Week

The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at Coastal Carolina University hosts Free Week, a sampling of several noncredit courses, taking place from Wednesday, Jan. 4 to Friday, Jan. 6.

Free Week allows people the opportunity to meet instructors, attend free lectures and demonstrations, and enjoy refreshments at each of the outreach centers. The Free Week schedule is as follows:

* Wednesday, Jan. 4, at the Foundation Center in Conway: 2431 U.S. 501 E. at Winyah Road. Classes are scheduled between 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. For information, call 843-349-4001.

* Thursday, Jan. 5, at the Waccamaw Higher Education Center in Litchfield: 160 Wilbrook Blvd. off U.S. 17. Classes are scheduled between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. For information, call 843-349-6584.

* Friday, Jan. 6, at the Myrtle Beach Education Center: 900 79th Avenue N. near U.S. 17 Bypass.

Classes are scheduled between 9 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. For information, call 843-349-2767. Topics include history, crafts, health and wellness, music and more. Assistance with registration, photo IDs and parking decals will also be available during these times.

OLLI offers more than 450 noncredit courses and workshops for older adults and other noncredit students. The Spring 2012 semester officially commences on Wednesday, Jan. 11. Registration is $20 plus any fee(s) associated with the specific courses.
