Umdabu Dance Company to perform at CCU

The Umdabu Dance Company will bring its Zulu-inspired dance troupe to Coastal Carolina University’s Wheelwright Auditorium on Wednesday, Feb. 8 at 7 p.m. Attendees can expect an evening of singing, dancing and audience participation. This event is free and open to the public, but a ticket is required.

The Umdabu Dance Company is a Birmingham, Ala., based dance theater dedicated to the preservation and presentation of traditional and contemporary South African history and culture, particularly that of the Zulu people. The Umdabu Dance Company was incorporated in 2000 under the artistic direction of veteran South African dancer, choreographer and drummer Johannes “Jomo” Xulu.
