CCU holds annual Business Plan Competition

The annual Coastal Carolina University Business Plan Competition is now open to CCU students and recent alumni.

Those who wish to submit a plan must send a Statement of Intent to compete to Rob Salvino at rsalvino@coastal.edu by Wednesday, Feb. 8. The competition is open to all current CCU students as well as to alumni who graduated within the last two years.

The CCU Business Plan Competition is a student competition focusing on developing the idea of long-term success in business and society by considering principled entrepreneurship. The Charles G. Koch Charitable Foundation provides some financial support for the competition. More than $2,000 in cash prizes is up for grabs, with the winner receiving $1,000. Last year’s winner was Christopher Medeiros with his plan for Mobile Auto Xpress. Second place went to Christopher Hennecy and his idea for Wavehouse Myrtle Beach. Third place went to Derek Frimpong and Shawn Sayre for their proposal for Starting.Point.

The 2012 CCU Business Plan Competition is sponsored by the E. Craig Wall Sr. College of Business Administration, Emenson Storage and Commercial Property Management and Alexander Klaus, entrepreneur and servant leader.
